Initially, I want to see for myself if I feel comfortable pushing a car the same way I've learnt to do in any other racing format. From the PlayStation to electric street racing and arrive and drive kart championships. So I put this to the test in a Formula Renault in a summer 2021. And confirmed my queries. Next step ...
Book the ARDS Test. And get a couple test drives in for prep. Firstly, a test run in a BMW M4. Positively, the instructor said I'm doing more than enough in my driving for the racing school assessment. Then it was onto the Formula 4, where it started to rain - heavily. Yet my racing instinct kicked in to top the session by a good 3 seconds. Despite that, too many cars slipped off track so the session was stopped on a downer. Otherwise, an incredible experience to drive the classic Brands Hatch in a single-seater! Can't wait to be back here.

A week later, I was back at Brands Hatch. Having revised the relevant sections for the theory test, and got that out of the way, it was out onto track. Suddenly, I'm very nervous. But I tell myself, You've invested so much. Test or no test, it's a racetrack. Own it like you've always known it. And don't be an ediat.
Starting debrief, the ARDS instructor made my nervousness the first point they noticed. This made them "pleasantly surprised, because as soon as you took pit exit ... you were in your element." We discuss areas I did well and areas that would improve with experience. Then says the ARDS Test has been a success!

I purchased the MSA Starter Packs way back last summer. However, I didn't see the point of booking the ARDS Test with no feasible race series around for me to race. Now my racing options are more informed, I'm putting in works so I'm ready come the opportunity to enter professional car racing.
In the meantime, it's all about club racing and electric enterprise. Platforms which nurture my unique racing pathway and engage my works in mobility, sustainability and technology. While featuring in more televised race entries offers increased brand visibility alongside my own multimedia assets. And crucially, meeting more and more like-minded forward-thinkers ... I'm excited to realise our common determination as partners.
