Electric street racing - an origin story

Electric karts have powered my racing for almost a decade. Now platforms are emerging, I'm driven to bring my experience as native electric racer onto them. From London ...

I'm Isaiah Egwuagu and I am an electric street racing origin story.

A racing network largely escaped my childhood. I would quench my thirst for racing through the F1 games instead - F1 05, F1 06, through to the Codemasters iterations - single player, because that was my only outlet. Then, my mum took me and my friends to Revolution Karting, the earliest outdoor electric karting circuit around.

From the early 2010s, what started off as birthday outings evolved throughout the decade into race experiences. I started university in 2017, started working and soon could invest myself into racing. Karting every week in the summer, I was quickly enabled by good engineering and track personnel. They knew kart and circuit inside out, noticed my passion and shared their expertise to push me as a driver.

This would unlock a driving style within my potential that is adaptable, intuitive and responsive to the shifting dynamics and nuances of any kart, in all-weather conditions, as an original electric street racer. At the same time, we enjoy visiting racers from Croatia, Denmark, Mexico. Embracing cultures, exchanging good energies, racing hard. And at the end of summer 2018, setting a new lap record.

Since then, arrive and drive championships across the UK have proven affordable, competitive grounds for driver development. And my racing community grows. Fellow racers, allies pushing innovative transit solutions, various stakeholders in motorsport sustainability. New foundations to express my untraditional origins as a racing driver. So allow me to proceed in a manner true to me.

Become immersed, as I welcome you to my playground.
